The Terrible Story Of Anne and Margot Frank and Auguste van Pels, Painful Punishment In Auschwitz-Birkenau camp.

Image
Approximately 1,000 women from the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp, among them Anne and Margot Frank and Auguste van Pels, were selected for forced labour in the German war industry. They left in the night of 1-2 November 1944 by train, they arrived in Bergen-Belsen two days later.  This was a concentration camp in Northern Germany, where both prisoners of war and Jews were imprisoned. Bergen-Belsen was also used as a transit camp to other camps. The women were put up in tents, but these tents were badly damaged a few days later in a storm. They were then put in barracks where there was very little space.  The camp was filthy, wet, and cold. People were hungry, unable to keep themselves clean, and contracted infectious and deadly diseases such as typhus. Because more and more Jewish prisoners were taken in, the camp became overcrowded and things got worse and worse. The video series After the Arrest, follows Anne’s life story after the period in hiding. From an indeterminate time and place, An

The Lonely Life Of Teruo Nakamura, The World War II Soldier Who Stayed At His Post For 30 Years.

Image
The "last of the last" of the World War II holdouts, Teruo Nakamura refused to believe the war had ended and lived in a tiny hut on Indonesia's Morotai Island until he was discovered in 1974. Many know the story of Hiroo Onoda, the Japanese soldier who refused to believe World War II had ended and didn’t surrender until February 1974. While he is frequently referred to as the last World War II holdout, there is another lesser-known soldier who wasn’t discovered until ten months after Onoda. His name was Teruo Nakamura. By the 1970s, World War II had been over for nearly three decades. Young soldiers had returned home, started families, and entered middle age. But on Dec. 18, 1974, news broke that one man had never gotten the memo of the war’s end. Nakamura was discovered on the Indonesian island of Morotai, where he’d been stationed in 1944. After a bloody battle in September of that year, Nakamura had been presumed dead — but he was actually deep in the island’s jungle w

THE TERRIBLE BATTLE OF HURTGEN FOREST "THE LONGEST SINGLE BATTLE THE U.S. ARMY HAS EVER FOUGHT.

Image
The Battle of Hürtgen Forest  was a series of battles fought from September 19 to December 16, 1944, between American and German forces on the Western Front during World War II in the Hürtgen Forest, a 54 sq mi area about 3.1 mi east of the Belgian–German border. It was the longest battle on German ground during World War II and is the longest single battle the U.S. Army has ever fought. The Germans fiercely defended the area because it served as a staging area for the 1944 winter offensive, the Battle of the Bulge. After several heavy setbacks, the Allies failed to capture the area, and the Germans successfully held the region until they launched their last-ditch offensive into the Ardennes on December 16 and ended the Hürtgen offensive.  The US Army suffered over 33,000 casualties. In the end, Hürtgen Forest was of little strategic value and the fierce battles that took place were overshadowed by the American victory in the Battle of the Bulge.  Thanks for reading leave your though

Will this Growing War around The World Ends if Putin The President of Russia Dies - Daily - Brutality

Image
Will the war between Russia and Ukraine end if Putin die? It would certainly give Russia an excuse to stop the war. But it might also open the door to hardliners like Ramzan Kadyrov and Yevgeny Prigozhin who believe that Putin has been too soft of Ukraine and should be more forceful. Of course they would have the same problems as Putin. One must have soldiers and equipment to fight. It is far easier to coach from the sidelines than to be the actual one in charge. Will Putin die soon? But Putin dying would be a face saving measure for Russia to stop the war. It was Putin’s idea. He pushed the war. Now that he is dead, there is no reason to push the war any further. Putin would be vilified in order for Russia to save face. ... They were apparently led to believe that they’d be receiving treatment for their injuries. Instead, the doctors began a series of human experiments as Tono looked on in horror.  According to testimony later used against

The all-female members of the Soviet's 588th Night Bomber Regiment painted their planes with flowers and attacked Nazi forces across the Eastern Front. The women of the 588th Night Bomber Regiment of the Soviet Air Forces — better known as the Night Witches — had no radar, no machine guns, no radios, and no parachutes. All they had onboard was a map, a compass, rulers, stopwatches, flashlights, and pencils. Yet they successfully completed 30,000 bombing raids and dropped more than 23,000 tons of munitions on advancing German armies over the course of four years during World War II. Colonel Marina Raskova, The “Soviet Amelia Earhart” The all-female Night Witches squadron was the direct result of women in the Soviet Union wanting to be actively involved in the war effort. Many Soviet women had grown weary of playing a support role during the war and wanted to be engaged in combat on the front lines. 450 DIED DURING OPERATION TIGER A SERIES OF LARGE-SCALE REHEARSALS FOR THE D-DAY INVASION OF NORMANDY.

Image
Operation Tiger was a series of large-scale rehearsals for the D-Day invasion of Normandy, which took place in April 1944 on Slapton Sands in Devon.  Coordination and communication problems resulted in friendly fire injuries during the exercise. An Allied convoy positioning itself for the landing was attacked by E-boats of Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine, resulting in the deaths of at least 749 American servicemen. Because of the impending invasion of Normandy, the incident was under the strictest secrecy at the time and was only minimally reported afterward. The first practice assault occurred on the morning of April 27, marked by an incident involving friendly fire. H-hour was set for 07:30 and included live ammunition to acclimate the troops to the sights, sounds and even smells of a naval bombardment.  During the landing itself, live rounds were to be fired over the heads of the incoming troops by forces on land for the same reason. This followed an order by General Dwight D. Eisen

On this day in 1945, Auschwitz concentration camp, with its last 7,500 inmates still present, was liberated by Soviet forces. Auschwitz was the largest camp established by the Germans. A complex of camps, Auschwitz included a concentration camp, killing center, and forced-labor camps. It was located 37 miles west of Krakow (Cracow), near the prewar German-Polish border. In mid-January 1945, as Soviet forces approached the Auschwitz camp complex, the SS began evacuating Auschwitz and its satellite camps. Nearly 60,000 prisoners were forced to march west from the Auschwitz camp system. Thousands had been killed in the camps in the days before these death marches began.  Tens of thousands of prisoners, mostly Jews, were forced to march to the city of WodzisÅ‚aw in the western part of Upper Silesia. SS guards shot anyone who fell behind or could not continue. Prisoners also suffered from the cold weather, starvation, and exposure on these marches.  More than 15,000 died during the death mar

The increase of plantations led to more demand for slaves hence more captives coming from Africa w

However, since the end of the war, the circumstances of Mussolini's death, and the identity of his executioner, have been subjects of continuing dispute and controversy in Italy. Did African-American Slaves Rebel? This is one thing that is not taught in the public school system. We never learned in school of Africans fighting back or not wanting to be in enslaved. It's strange to ever think of myself, a friend, or even a enemy being made to do certain task against their own free will. This history is large of enslaved Africans rebelling against the slave trader but you have to research it yourself.  One of the most pernicious allegations made against the African-American people was that our slave ancestors were either exceptionally “docile” or "content and loyal,” thus explaining their purported failure to rebel extensively.  Some even compare enslaved Americans to their brothers and sisters in Brazil, Cuba, Suriname and Haiti, the last of whom defeated the most powerful army in the world, Napoleon’s army, becoming the first slaves in history to successfully strike a blow for their own freedom. So, did African-American slaves rebel? Of course they did.
