I have personally been there. The hopelessness of being alone and surrounded by 5 huge rugby player-type professional killers and psychos in a dark “interrogation room”, with a bright light shining in your face, blinding you, is traumatic. I always expected to be strangled from behind...you could feel them breathing down your neck to intimidate you.

These cowardly killers, with dark hoods to hide their faces, and speaking in Afrikaans, putting words in your mouth while accusing you of lies reported to them by their treacherous black spies and informants.


When you walked under killer police escort to the 10th floor of the Security Police at the John Vorster Square in Jo’burg, you said your last prayers. You never expected to come out of there alive- this 10th floor is where many notable activists were murdered, like Ahmed Timol, Matthew Mabelane and many other activists.


I saw them all, their “interrogation rooms”, at Protea, Orlando, Moroka and Meadowlands Police Stations in Soweto. I (and my siblings) left for exile because I knew that these killers were closing in, it was just a question of time. 


These killers enjoyed their bloody craft. In addition to severe beatings, electric shocks, poisonings, burnings with cigarettes and other heinous methods of torture, they “roasted people alive” in an open pit coal fire (like a barbecue) until they were cremated after 9 to 10 hours. Drinking beer and laughing while they were doing this.


I would not wish these encounters on my worst enemy....can’t continue..too painful to remember. Bad nightmares till today.


Lest we forget that fighting apartheid was no Sunday afternoon picnic....it was hell on earth.

The Terrible Death Of Captain Ben Salomon The Dentist Of WWII Who Kill 100 Japanese Soldier In His tent.

  Captain Ben Salomon was a dentist who wound up on Saipan in the middle of one of the largest mass-banzai charges of the entire Pacific War.  Before it was over, he killed over 100 Japanese soldiers in defense of his aid station. In 2002, 58 years later, he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “...serving at Saipan, on July 7, 1944, as the Surgeon for the 2nd Battalion, 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. The battalion was attacked by an overwhelming force estimated between 3,000 and 5,000 Japanese soldiers.  It was one of the largest attacks attempted in the Pacific Theater during World War II. The enemy soon penetrated the battalions’ perimeter and inflicted overwhelming casualties.  In the first minutes of the attack, approximately 30 wounded soldiers walked, crawled, or were carried into Captain Salomon’s aid station. As the perimeter began to be overrun, it became increasingly difficult for Captain Salomon to work on the wounded.
