Seven prisoners sent to the gallows in first days of new year


Unable to reign in its political and economic crises, and concerned over possible nationwide uprisings, the inhumane mullahs’ regime in Iran has resorted to sending seven prisoners to the gallows in the first days of 2017. These executions were carried out in the prisons of Karaj (west of Tehran) and Ghazvin (northwest Iran).

Karaj Central Prison was the scene of four inmates hanged on Tuesday, January 3.

Three prisoners aged 30, 34 and 36 were also hanged in Ghazvin Prison on January 2 and 3.

Another inmate, aged 33, was transferred to Sepidar Prison in the city of Ahvaz in preparation for his execution.

 Stutthof Concentration Camp guard 72 years ago today eleven members of the staff of Stutthof Concentration Camp were hanged. Approximately 1,000 women from the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp, among them Anne and Margot Frank and Auguste van Pels, were selected for forced labour in the German war industry. They left in the night of 1-2 November 1944 by train, they arrived in Bergen-Belsen two days later.  This was a concentration camp in Northern Germany, where both prisoners of war and Jews were imprisoned. Bergen-Belsen was also used as a transit camp to other camps. The women were put up in tents, but these tents were badly damaged a few days later in a storm. They were then put in barracks where there was very little space.  The camp was filthy, wet, and cold. People were hungry, unable to keep themselves clean, and contracted infectious and deadly diseases such as typhus.
